How wonderful to be lost in one's own thoughts. This is where I found myself when I was asked, "What's behind that smile?"

Yes, yes, yes...as a Catholic I know all about trying to do good and be good. I remember the bracelets, bumper stickers, tee-shirts, troll dolls, etc. proclaiming we should all ask "What Would Jesus Do" before proceeding with our actions. However, while I try my best to be a good person (truly I do) I find it more realistic to ask myself, "Self, what would Coco do?"
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I guess so...but I say to be called an inspiration is the sincerest form of flattery. What I do not consider flattery, however, is someone

Recently I received an e-mail from Kim Kardashian. I kid you not! But before you have me pegged as her next BFF, I must advise that I have never flashed my hoo hoo (sans undergarments or otherwise) getting into or out of a vehicle, I do not have a nasally voice utilized to end every sentence as a question, and I have been married nearly 20 years as opposed to days/hours so it is safe to assume I do not fit the Kim-Kardashian-BFF-mould.

So classes have begun and copious amounts of great literature are being digested and discussed. The first days of classes are always filled with excited anticipation as each syllabus is distributed, goals are set, introductions are made, and work begins. Truth be known, I have come to the point in my academic career when more often than not an assignment is given before the class even begins. And that's okay...well, usually...until I received this assignment from two different professors today...

Recently I have shared how my hiatus was a time for growth...mentally, physically, and spiritually. Life is beautiful and I must remember to never take it for granted. Perhaps I was...I certainly didn't mean to...and once again life handed me a reality check.

You know that feeling? The one where you feel all is right with the world and you are ready to be one with it? After five days of all-out-take-no-prisoners-it's-time-to-be-a-grown-up-I-am-gonna-get-my-stuff-together perseverance, I am so there...

When I first told my husband I was trying yoga he cracked up laughing and said, "Trying what with Yoda? Is the force going to be with you? Coordinated not you are." This was one of those times he should be grateful I am committed to that vow which prevents me from putting the occasional pillow over his head...but it did get me thinking....

~ Eleanor Roosevelt
Ya' know, Mrs. Roosevelt may not have had Mrs. Kennedy's grace or Mrs. Obama's style, but she could definitely hold her own in the smarts department. I have saved more quotes from Mrs. Roosevelt than I can even count...she was a most insightful First Lady indeed.

"You're so lucky," my daughter recently told me. "Adults never get told what to do...but kids always get told what we can and can't do." I figured I would spare her innocence from my worldly
cynicism knowledge and let her hold onto this myth just a little longer. She'll learn soon enough that adulthood is highly over-rated.

Also known as "Keyboard Bravery," I am surprised how many keyboard trolls lurk among the masses, donning confidence to bring it from a back-lit keyboard. What a loss for those of us who love

Bon soir! I have missed you all so very much...but you know the saying: life is what happens while you're making other plans. On the flip side, hopefully you're familiar with another (and frankly, one of my favorites): it's all good in the hood.

Yes, yes, I know...women are from Venus and men are from Mars. Tomes have been written about all-she-does-is-nag-he-never-puts-the-toilet-seat-down-he-takes-me-for-granted-all-she-does-is-nag blah, blah, blah. Dr. Phil has built an empire off this stuff. Yet as one who has claimed it all to be horse-puckey, I am finding comic relief from the male/female points of view in my own little world.

I am happy, I am thrilled, I am over the moon. I have just learned hot-off-the-press that the Lincoln Center is going to honor the one-and-only-larger-than-life-fantastic Catherine Deneuve. Magnifique et incroyable!

For someone so small, she sure can belt out the support for her team. For someone who three years ago couldn't tell you one thing about the sport other than the color ball involved and that it gets dribbled, she sure gets excited over three-point shots. And as a protective Mom, she sure get
