The Lost Art Of Accountability...

Wikipedia states accountability "is often used synonymously with such concepts as responsibility, answer-ability, blameworthiness, liability, and other terms associated with the expectation of account-giving." Yikes...methinks several may be in dire need of a lesson or two.

When did it become fashionable to not be accountable for our actions or lack thereof? I admit I am growing a bit concerned. Society seems to accept the fact some folks never say thank you, condone others who never RSVP to our parties, and allow some to shirk their responsibilities because, well, we're all busy and that's just the way it is.

Okay...uhm...what?

Here's the fact...when you don't hold up your end, I can't hold up mine. When you say you're gonna do something, then do it. If you don't want me to handle it myself, then do it correctly. I didn't say perfect, I said correctly (although anal-retentive picky people do prefer it the first way.) Otherwise, don't freak out on me when I don't trust you in the future. I guess this makes me a little crazy, which is probably easier to write off as my character flaw than accept accountability and responsibility.

But what do I know.

  2. Hit a nerve--nothing! I am doing an entire series based on this very thing (as you know). People are just "losing it" nowadays. And why can't the normal people just come together and make their own little, fruitful community? Somewhere where there is no snow--right Fojoy?
