Read Your Rule Book, Shankapotamaus...

For the most part, I am a pretty easy-going person. However, there are times I wish society came with a rule book. And when we see someone not following the basic rules, the end result is a slap upside the head with said rule book.

Case in point: if one insists on driving 40 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone during rush hour traffic while laughing on the cell phone cradled between the head and shoulder as a lit cigarette and coffee are held in a free hand, one could wind up with a slap upside the head.

If you are one of those folks who insist on returning eight shopping carts of bottles and cans all at once and hog all the machines to do so, you may find yourself accosted by the book.

Being late once and awhile is understandable. Everyday? Not so much. If you insist on relaying to the rest of us that your time is so much more important than ours, expect the harsh sting of the rule book comin' at you.

If you make a mistake, own it. Passing your errors onto others will earn you a turn at the book; possibly at the hands of several folks.

To those who feel compelled to pepper your speech with the F-bomb, especially at and in front of children, be warned. Learn some new vocabulary or face the wrath of the book.

In this current economic crisis, I know many have fallen on hard times. However, if I am behind you at the Wal-Mart check-out after spending an hour sticking to my list, sorting my coupons, keeping track of my budget, etc. and I see you purchase Wii games, DVD's, iTunes cards, and a pack of smokes with cash only to witness you whip out the benefits card to pay for your food I will DEFINITELY throw the book at you. Pray I can stop at one hit...

See, just a bit of order and everyone smiles a little brighter. I know I am.
