Empty To Refill...

A few years ago I read a great book by Joyce Rupp called The Cup of Our Life. Several of my friends and I chose to undertake this endeavor as part of our Lenten study. I wish I could tell you I recall a multitude of life-altering a-ha moments from this study, but only two truths have remained with me.

Waiting For The Sun...

It has been nothing but gloomy here in Upstate New York. And while I heard the sun peeked out a bit today, I was in an office sans windows so I can't confirm if it really happened or is just rumor. You know how those nasty rumors get started.

But You Did...And I Thank You...

The moment a person takes to reach out to do something special for another can't be measured. They didn't have to do it ~ they didn't have to do anything. But they did. In the past few days I have experienced several of these moments.

Beauty Of A Rose...

Ever since my daughters were in first grade, I would present them with roses after every school concert and play. Tonight was no exception.

Je Suis Au Femme Francaise Au Coeur...

I swear...Paris is calling me. And it is not being subtle in any way, shape or form.

From This Day Forward...

I am very happy to share with you that today is my wedding anniversary. My 18th wedding anniversary, to be exact. And it makes me stop and stare in wonder...where did 18 years go?

It's Extreme Alright...

Okay...anyone who knows me or has read the psychobabble ramblings of the voices in my head knows I am extremely cheap frugal when it comes to spending. This is not to be confused with purchasing junk. No, no, no...I am a Chanel girl who loves her Nine Wests just as much as the next girl. But if there is a deal to be had, then by gum I'm gonna find it.

It Takes A Village, People...

During the course of the week, our local paper posed a question in its parent blog: should you ever discipline someone else's children? Some of the answers posted surprised me.

I Got The Hooch...

Do you have a "happy song"? I do. The first time I heard it I had no idea what it meant. Truth be told, I'm still not totally sure but it seems pretty positive to me.

Where Do We Go From Here...

The time has finally arrived. Thanks to the "Savage Beauty" exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, on Wednesday, May 4th those of us not part of the Hollywood-fast-track-I-have-friends-in-low-places-look-at-us-we're-beautiful scene can witness greatness.

Godard Or Truffaut...

Two years ago I thoroughly enjoyed a French Cinema class with a most dynamic professor. At the beginning of the course, she asked us a question she hoped we would be able to answer by the end of the semester: are we a Godard or a Truffaut?
