Love, Love, Love...

Time for another confession...if there is a Valentine's Day Scrooge, I am sure yours truly is his off-spring.

This is only because I do not believe in Hallmark Holidays...we should take time every day to not only tell people how we feel about them, but let our actions show them. I don't need to waste ridiculous sums of money on someone else's sentiments to relay my feelings; I hope my behavior screams of the love I possess for them.

One of my favorite, favorite movies is "Love Actually." Side note - here's a shout-out to my fave, MU, who shares this adoration with me! Anyway,  the opening monologue for this movie is one of the most powerful I have ever heard...and it only gets better from there. And just in case you have never had the pleasure of hearing it, please take a moment to do so now:

See? Powerful. And this reality drives me to let everyone in my life who is so important to me to know it...and never doubt it. After all, no one has ever said it better than the late, great John Lennon.

"All you need is love...and you know that for sure."

  1. Wow, I've never watched Love Actually so obviously I've never seen that monologue...Very powerful stuff.
Thanks for sharing it, I'm now going to have to watch the rest of the movie, sooner rather than later.

  2. Paul - it's a great movie - not for little ones, but a great movie nonetheless. Brilliant, all-star cast that America tried to re-capture in "Valentines Day" but didn't quite make it up to snuff.
