I'm Back In The Groove...

Hello my friends! It has been waaaayyy tooo loonng!

The last time I checked in was the end of February. I took what was to be a small hiatus but sadly turned into a Rimbaud departure. This was not my intention, but life has a way of making procrastinators very busy people lose track of what is priority. It also has a way of shaking one back into consciousness of what should and should not be privileged with the use of one's time. For example: gardening, socializing, reading are considered good uses of one's time. Watching multiple re-runs of Real Housewives of {Fill In the Blank} are not. Besides...Theresa has become a media loving nut-job and Ramona gets on my last nerve, but I digress...

When I get in the groove I am a force to be reckoned with. But truth be told, I am a terrible procrastinator. It is by sole Divine Intervention that I pull off half of the things I do. How I get myself into them in the first place is another story completely, but there it is. Why put off until tomorrow what one can put off until next week...

In the time since we last spoke, my oldest graduated from high school and begins college in a week. How this all happened in such a short period of time is beyond me, but it is wonderful nonetheless and when I see the young man he has become I am nothing but proud. I am not one of those oh-my-baby-I-can't-believe-you're-leaving-me Moms...I am excited for him to see what life has in store and to meet it head-on. To be a soft spot for him to land is the best I can do, so armed with this point of view I'll just keep on keepin' on.

I have continued with my own pursuit of higher education. One such class during this time was Astronomy and I must admit it kicked me right in the asteroid... excruciating does not begin to describe this experience. However, it didn't kill me, I earned a "B", and while the news of Neil Armstrong's passing does give me pause (after all, he stepped on the moon the day I was born) I can say with all honesty it is not a topic I ever see myself pursuing an interest in. Ever. Ever.

My cup continues to runneth over and I have so much more to share, but if I bore you all today you'll not want to come back. It has been a time of excitement, happiness, sorrow, and joy in my world...and I will tell you all about it. Tomorrow.

In the meantime, sing along with Kiss (which reminds me of my fourth grade lunch box...yes boys and girls,  in the fourth grade I was rockin' out with a Kiss lunch box...) and get ready to get back in the groove.
