But You Did...And I Thank You...
The moment a person takes to reach out to do something special for another can't be measured. They didn't have to do it ~ they didn't have to do anything. But they did. In the past few days I have experienced several of these moments.
First of all, thank you to the one who sent me an e-mail asking if everything is alright. Knowing I usually post about my world every day, she was worried my absence was due to something wrong. Luckily, my absence was due to nothing more than more computer issues...but to know I was missed, to be contacted by someone who misses me and tells me so, well, that is pretty amazing. And I thank you for taking the time to do so.
Thank you to my wonderful nephew who made his cousin (my oldest daughter) feel like the most special girl in the world. You see, her 8th grade semi-formal dance was Friday evening and she was excited to wear her new dress and first pair of heels. Her "big-brother"cousin, who is a Senior in college, chauffeured her to the dance in his brother's vintage car. Adorned in a suit to match her dress, he brought her out of her shell, getting her to laugh out loud before driving away to hang with his friends. He certainly did not need to spend his first days home from college this way, but he did. And he was happy to do so. I hope he knows the 45 minutes he spent with his cousin will stay with her for a lifetime.
To the friend who called me on Sunday when I didn't make it to Mass relaying I was missed...I thank you.
To the friends I saw Saturday evening after too much time had gone by...I thank you. I miss you all and seeing you again make me resolved to not let so much time go by between visits. Thank you for making me feel so special and letting me be a part of your evening.
Thank you to the one who took the time to share with me some things I have dreamed of forever. A day in the sunshine was just what I needed and I am determined to make a point to take the time more often. Time in the gardens, time in the park, time for myself...wonderful.
None of these folks had to give of themselves the way they did...but they did. And I thank them.

This post made me think of Proverbs 25:11. So glad all is right in your world! Your nephew and daughter look so cute--what a fun evening for her. xxBliss
